AUEDASAN ANTONIO

Action United for Entertainers and Diverse Artists

A nonprofit supporting the artists who bring our community to life — through scholarships, support, and the joy of Piñatas in the Barrio.

(a) · About AUEDA

Behind the fiesta.
Beside the artistas.

AUEDA is a San Antonio 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the artistic and entertainment community across ages and creative disciplines. Our mission includes educational scholarships and financial, legal, medical, and mental health assistance for artists facing serious hardship.

Piñatas in the Barrio is a major fundraising event for this larger mission. The celebration brings neighbors together; the funds it raises help create opportunities for artists beyond Fiesta.

Piñatas in the Barrio · An AUEDA fundraiser

A festival that belongs to the block

Organized by AUEDA, Piñatas in the Barrio is an official Fiesta San Antonio event held every April at historic Plaza Guadalupe, 1327 Guadalupe St. — a free, all-ages afternoon of live Tejano and cumbia, folklórico dancers, affordable food, and the satisfying crack of piñatas that turns a long street into a living room.

Its signature moment is the unveiling of the Barrio's Largest Piñata — and the crowning of the day's King and Queen of the Barrio. Admission is free. Parking is free. Everyone is welcome.
